INCOMMUNICADO

I’ve been awfully quiet the last couple months, I know. Here’s why: I had a part-time responsibility running a business in Colorado, a business I owned 50% of. That business manufactured bicycle touring gear and van camping products under the names Bedrock Bags and Nightfall Overland. In early May, in an unexpected and rapid turn of events, I ended up buying out my business partner - and moving the business back to Madison. This meant loading a truck full of sewing machines, giant tables, hundreds of yards of fabric, inventory, tools, supplies, and more, driving it across the country, and setting it all back up again here.

Because I’m a glutton for punishment I decided that wasn’t enough. If I was going to take this on, things would have to change - so I decided to refine all our designs, change the name and combine both brands under one new label, build an entirely new website, and all the rest that goes along with restarting a business in a brand-new place. And that is why Freewheel Studios has been under the radar as of late.

Happily, the new business - dubbed Freewheel Mission Gear - is ready to roll at 311 Mulberry Street. We even had room to make a mini-gallery for my fine art prints! So come on down, and check it out. Here’s a video and some photos to give you an idea of what we’re doing.
