Starting fresh after long travels.
Hello, Durango - it’s Joey Ernst. You know me from the bike world. For almost two decades you’ve recognized me from my former Main Avenue bike shop, from my outdoor gear manufacturing business in the Smiley Building, from my ultra-racing days.
In 2023, I moved to the midwest for a few years - and I launched Freewheel Studios while I was away. It became quite successful, so when I moved back home to Durango in 2026, I knew I had to relaunch here!
I’ve been seeing many of you out on the trails and around town this summer, re-acquainting myself with the community. It was good to leave for a while, but it’s great to be back. Eventually you’ll get as used to seeing me behind a camera as behind handlebars or a workbench. See you around either way!
