PRINT SHOP

There are two sides to my personality:

The serious side that works altogether too much and devotes excessive attention to the underpinnings of everything, and the fun side that enjoys ditching it all and goofing off. In an effort not to let my serious side ruin my lifelong camera habit, I don't take photography too seriously when I'm not working for clients. I've never had to write an Artist Statement before, but I was told I need one. After seeing this published that friend will probably regret having told me so - but it will of course be too late by then, won't it? Here goes:

I enjoy being outside, and I enjoy cameras. Given those simple realities, my 'art' photography more or less consists of whatever captured my attention while outside. That may sound like a poor basis for a portfolio (and perhaps it is!), but another simple reality is that the world is full of beautiful scenes happening all the time. I miss most of the ones I see, and muck up an additional large percentage of those, but occasionally I get lucky and manage to capture something I quite like. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what's in the Print Shop - Things I Found Beautiful (and Didn't Screw Up).
